Submit proposals to funding organizations and be hired or employed
Many funding organizations only accept proposals submitted by scientists through their university, college, or nonprofit organization. Theiss Research is such a nonprofit organization and gives independent scientists the opportunity to submit proposals to funding organizations. If a proposal is successful and a grant is awarded, Theiss Research hires or employs the independent scientist to pursue the funded research and manages the grant.

Live anywhere
Independent scientists with Theiss Research can live anywhere they like, subject only to the restrictions given by the funding organization, which might require them to live, for example, within the United States. They can therefore live where their partners can find a job but they cannot, where their family and friends live, or in the most beautiful places.

Pursue any research interests
Independent scientists can propose anything they think has the potential of being funded. No job description is restricting them.
