THEISSRESEARCH An organization of independent scientists and a provider of services to the scientific community

Other issues

Besides unique benefits and common concerns of joining Theiss Research there are also some other issues, which are addressed below.

Can only scientists in the United States become independent scientists with Theiss Research?
No. Some funding organizations do not require their funded scientists to reside in the United States. Two such funding organizations are Submeta and the Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi).

Can scientists become part-time independent scientist and thus remain part-time with their current employer?
Yes. If scientists have research interests that their job descriptions do not allow them to pursue, they can submit proposals through Theiss Research for funding of these research interests and, if successful, join Theiss Research part-time. However, all parties involved must approve such an arrangement.

Can Theiss Research petition for work visas?
Yes. Theiss Research has already successfully petitioned for an H-1B work visa.
