Dear all,
This is to announce that Shigalla Mahongo of the Tanzania Fisheries
Research Institute (TAFIRI) succeeded in obtaining a competitive
POGO-SCOR Visiting Fellowship. His fellowship will allow him to visit
Rutger's University in the United States for one month starting this
coming July or August to receive training on the Regional Ocean
Modeling System (ROMS) from Dr. Javier Zavala-Garay. Congratulations
Mr. Mahongo!
Mr. Mahongo's ROMS training at Rutger's University will be an integral
part of the wider effort of modeling the dynamics of the Zanzibar
Channel in order to address such issues as pollution dispersion, beach
erosion, and coral reef health.
